Mahwar: Journal of Islamic Communication and Media Studies is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Islamic Broadcasting and Communication Study Program (KPI) at STAI Darul Abrar, Aceh, Indonesia. Derived from the Arabic word meaning "the core of conversation" or "pivot," Mahwar symbolizes our dedication to serving as a focal point for critical scholarship at the intersection of media, communication, and Islam. In an era of digital disruption characterized by an unrestricted flow of information that frequently challenges ethical boundaries, this journal serves as an academic fortress, offering a rigorous intellectual filter grounded in divine revelation and critical reason.
Mahwar bridges the gap between classical Islamic heritage (turath) and modernity. We contend that Islamic intellectual traditions offer rich, humanistic, transformative, and peaceful communication concepts that are vital to addressing today's global societal challenges. To ensure scholarly excellence, every submission undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by qualified experts from diverse international academic institutions.
As a developing scholarly platform, Mahwar is committed to maintaining professional publication standards and is currently preparing for evaluation and indexing by major national and international databases, including Google Scholar, Crossref (DOI Assignment), Garuda, and Moraref, with the long-term vision of global indexation in Scopus and Web of Science.
